Rejuvenate

IMG_3704

Our Boracay trip was not exactly spent sunbathing or reading books. But it was a welcome respite from my hectic life here in the city.

But now, a week after the trip, I must snap back to reality and focus on matters that are important. Thesis thesis thesis and thesis.

Baby

Okay, everyone's been raving about David Cook's performance of "Always Be My Baby" by Mariah Carey on American Idol a couple of nights ago. And I'm joining the bandwagon.

I don't normally blog about American Idol performances but this is by far my favorite performance this season. Instant LSS and it gave me the chills.

I still don't like his personality, but he keeps on delivering great performances each week.

Diet another day

Pier One
I've been eating a lot the past few days - the past few days where I should have been starving to death. I can't help it though. Went out with my friends whom I haven't hung out in three months, and my cousin arrived from the States.

Why I love WikiMapia

I finally was able to commute to Greenhills by my own. Okay, I had help by asking my friend to alert me when we are at Recto so I could alight the FX. Sorry, I still don't recognize Recto. They all look the same to me. But I digress.

It has been a habit of mine to "review" my travel by looking the route the public transportation took on a map. And I found myself on WikiMapia. While tracing the route, I came across several comments that really cracked me up. Here are some gems:

Survivor

GMA 7 is doing the local franchise of Survivor? Why?! I love(d) Survivor, and I don't know if GMA 7 could live up to the standards and production quality of the original US series. I really don't want to see another Philippines' Next Top Model.

Finally

American Idol contestants sang songs that I actually like and listen to on a regular basis. Well not all of the songs but a couple - Angels by Robbie Williams and Innocent by Our Lady Peace. Finally!

Halo-halo overload

In less than an hour, I devoured two highly-touted halo-halos. A lot of people swear by Razon's and Icebergs' halo-halos. I really really like Razon's version, but the one I had today left me underwhelmed. Quality is not what it used to be, or probably because they had dozens of customers today.

Razon's Razon's Halo-halo
Icebergs' Super Halo-halo is pure hype to me. I'd rather prefer Chowking's version. Should've ordered their milkshake or banana split instead.

Dad's steak

Dad's steak
The only reason why I love Monday nights is because I get to eat my dad's steak.

With honors

No, not me. But my friend is. She's graduating cum laude at the State University. I'm so proud of her. I can't wait til everything is done and I'll be graduating as well.

Papaya

Call me late, but I never knew that the Papaya Dance was a dance "craze" here. Is that how disconnected I am with the world?

Rage

Burger King, Mall of Asia
I really feel the need to beat the hell out of this person. No, I don't know him but I have talked, err exchanged messages, with him.

Selfish asshole.

In related news, I could feel that our thesis adviser is exasperated with our group. The pressure is building up, definitely. This thesis is slowly turning from alright to bad.
