Supr Flickr!

Wow.

I'm currently really really busy but I have to blog about this. Anyway, the Firefox extension I created just yesterday, Supr Flickr, got a review!

Thanks Josh Lowensohn and to the makers of Better Flickr, where my extension is based. Also thanks to Anthony Lieuallen for his Script Compiler.

I made this extension because I noticed that Better Flickr has not been updated for a long time now, and several of it's functionalities are broken, like photo magnifier. I also wanted to add several features. So there. I hope it gets out of the Sandbox and hope it helps a lot of users.

Marica Gonzales is a viral campaign

I'm sure a lot of you have received this email from a certain Marica Gonzales. I tweeted about it immediately because I knew there was something fishy about it. It was well-constructed with correct grammar and punctuation. It was sent directly to me, but I knew right away that it was spam.

Well, it turns out that it was a big viral campaign for Datu Puti's soy sauce (or toyo), according to Azrael.

They have set up a YouTube channel as well.

I don't know what to think about this. Before, I vocally hoped that Pablo Banila is a viral campaign for a hair product or something.

But this Marica Gonzales thing is a bit different. It was an email directly sent to individuals, whereas that Pablo Banila thing created a buzz when a lot of users got freaked out by his weird viewing habits, gross looks, and disturbing website. But the email was a bit uncreative in the opinion and pushing it too far. How did "she" get our emails by the way?

It was a great idea, but should've been executed better.

I crave Cold Rock

We're fast approaching December and it's still uncharacteristically hot and humid. I really really crave ice cream. Cold Rock specifically.

My college friend Coco has been raving about Cold Rock for the longest time already but by the time I was willing to try it, the branch at Mall of Asia (which is closest to school) was already gone.

I finally was able to grab a cup when my best friend Maricar treated me on my birthday at Greenbelt. I realized what I've been missing for the past few years! It was absolutely heavenly, and despite the exorbitant prices, I'd say it was well worth it.

Now those photos just made me crave even more...

Blogging by Twitter

I find myself updating my Twitter more often than this blog. Probably because I don't have to say a bunch of things anyway. So starting today, I will automatically publish my tweets here on Top Dog using LoudTwitter.

It's pouring again! And I don't want to get myself nor my laptop to get wet.

I am not a fan of their coffees and fruit smoothies, but their vanila chai latte is fantastic! Their pastries are good as well, although their cinnamon roll is too sweet for me.

Blogging from...

Mandarin Wok

Mandarin Wok in Mall of Asia. You get free WiFi for a minimum of Php 30, powered by e-yellowpages.

Free WiFi

Argh. I find myself spending just so I can avail of free WiFi. Should've went home instead - no food expenses, probably faster Internet.

I. Should. Break. This. Habit.

Well, I'd just convince myself that since it was already 8pm and I was already very very hungry, the hundred bucks worth of dinner and free WiFi was worth it.

Finally

We lost our DSL connection for 3 days since we asked to be upgraded to IPDSLAM. It felt like eternity.

But all is well now. My connection's speed doubled - yay!

If you're feeling voyeuristic

What can I do? Three days of no classes means three days stuck at home. I'm effing bored.

Note: I am not an internet fame-whore. I am just, well, curious about the wonders of technology.

Nominate Chocolate Hills in the search for the Natural 7 Wonders

The New 7 Wonders of the World have been chosen. Meanwhile, the same organization is looking for the Natural 7 Wonders of the World.

Let us all nominate the Chocolate Hills in Bohol to be included in this list. I'm afraid the Banaue Rice Terraces won't cut it since it was altered by humans.

Spread the word and nominate the Chocolate Hills! Visit the Natural7Wonders website now.

Safari for Windows

Title says it all<.

First, iTunes. Now, Safari. Mac running Windows. Do you sense a trend here?

I am currently using Safari while typing this entry. To be honest, it feels a lot like Firefox. And I don't see any speed increase as of now - they claim Safari is faster by 1.6 second than Firefox.

See for yourself.

Yay! Zooomr is back!

My favorite photo-sharing website, Zooomr, is back and even better with the release of the much-awaited Mark III. Thank you Kristopher Tate and Thomas Hawk for Zooomr, the little engine that could. And thank you to Raju of Zoho, for being an angel.

I am one of the few who got to try Mark III as it went live. It was beautiful. Watch out, Flickr.

I can't wait to upload some photos and blog about my last escapade for the summer.

What's hot according to Google

Today (at least I just discovered it today), Google launched a new service called Hot Trends, which is a part of Google Trends.

It basically lists down the top 100 searches for a certain day. However, it does not list down the top searches per se. According to Google Blog,

Hot Trends aren't the search terms people look for most often -- those are pretty predictable, like [weather] or [games] or perhaps [myspace]. Yes, [sex] too. Instead, the Hot Trends algorithm analyzes millions of searches to find those that are deviating the most relative to their past traffic. And the outcome is the Hot Trends list.
I'm not really sure if this will benefit a lot of users, but hey, it's a pretty nifty service.

Being in the know is hot these days.
